This unit standard is for experienced people working in the area

People credited with this unit standard are able to: analyse
lighting and technology requirements to develop kitchen or
bathroom designs; and apply lighting and technology
requirements to developed kitchen or bathroom designs.

Definitions
Worksite requirements – refer to instructions to staff on policy and procedures which
are documented in memo or manual format and are available in the workplace.
These requirements include but are not limited to – company specifications and
procedures, work instructions, manufacturer’s specifications, product quality
specifications, legislative requirements.
Client – refers to the person who has commissioned the design brief.
Kitchen or bathroom design brief – refers to the design parameters agreed between
the kitchen or bathroom designer and the client.

Evidence is required of a minimum of two different kitchen or bathroom designs.

Types of lighting used in a kitchen or bathroom are analysed in terms of their
function, client requirements, legislative requirements and the references.

Lighting options are identified and analysed to determine their suitability to meet
the kitchen or bathroom design brief.

3.1
Lighting and technology requirements are incorporated into the developed
kitchen or bathroom design in accordance with worksite requirements and the
kitchen or bathroom design brief.
3.2
Client approval for the lighting and technology requirements and the developed
design is sought in accordance with worksite requirements.
