This entry level unit standard is for people who are employed in
the further processing department and whose job is to pack
bulk and individual offal products, and weigh, label and seal
cartons to company specifications.
People credited with this unit standard are able to: pack bulk
offal products; pack individually wrapped offal products;
demonstrate team-work; and comply with organisational and
statutory hygiene and safety requirements.

Definitions

Company specifications – product specifications set by the company relating to cuts,
weights, presentation, and packaging.
Customer specifications – product specifications set by clients relating to cuts,
weights, presentation, and packaging.
Operator – the candidate being assessed against this unit standard.

Offal products may include but are not limited to – bobby calves, cattle, sheep and
lambs, deer, pig, goat, horses and other animals used in the meat processing sector.
