Operate a conductor assembly line

Purpose
People credited with this unit standard are able to: demonstrate knowledge of
the construction of a conductor assembly line; perform conductor assembly
operations; and start up and shut down a conductor assembly line that has
been pre-set. This unit standard is designed to enable entry level people to
perform basic process operations in a conductor assembly operation.

Demonstrate knowledge of the construction of a conductor assembly line.
Performance criteria
1.1
Conductor assembly machine components are identified using enterprise
equipment.

of the equipment on the line, and the sequence of operation, using enterprise

identified, and precautions are taken in accordance with enterprise procedure.

demonstrated in accordance with enterprise procedure.

Work area is cleared and cleaned to ensure safe operating conditions in
accordance with enterprise requirements.

surfaces, ledges, intake and output areas, hand tools.
3.2
Conductor assembly machinery and ancillary equipment start-up is performed in
accordance with enterprise procedure.
3.3
Conductor assembly machinery and ancillary equipment shut-down is
performed in accordance with enterprise procedure.

Providers must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority, or an inter-institutional body
with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from
assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority before
they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.
Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards
must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
