Purpose
People credited with this unit standard are able to demonstrate knowledge of
the role responsibilities of a consolidation quotation consultant, and complete
quotation tasks in a consolidation environment in the travel industry.
This unit standard is specifically designed for use within a consolidation

Definitions
Travel industry workplace policies and procedures refer to documented instructions
about workplace expectations, these must include but are not limited to – customer
service delivery, personal presentation, legislation, organisational structure, business
objectives.
Consolidation environment refers to a division within a wholesale travel organisation
or a standalone organisation which only deals with international airfares.
Specialist consolidation product knowledge refers to airline and airline-related
information and may include but is not limited to – airline routes, alliances, fare types,
taxes, fuel surcharges.

Element 1
Demonstrate knowledge of the role responsibilities of a consolidation quotation consultant.
Performance criteria
1.1
The role responsibilities of a consolidation quotation consultant are described in
accordance with travel industry workplace policies and procedures.
Range
responsibilities may include but are not limited to – answering
enquiries, quoting, providing support to travel agents, queues.
Element 2
Complete quotation tasks in a consolidation environment in the travel industry.
Performance criteria
2.1
Specialist consolidation product knowledge is demonstrated in accordance with
travel industry workplace policies and procedures.
Range
2.2
respond to specialist consolidation enquires;
evidence is required for three enquiries.
Point to point itineraries are quoted in accordance with airline requirements and
travel industry workplace policies and procedures.

short haul, long haul;
evidence is required for four different itineraries for each.

Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated
authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against
unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register
credits from assessment against unit standards.
Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards
must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.

standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP). The
AMAP also includes useful information about special requirements for organisations
