Definition
Workplace requirements – any policy, standard operation, procedure, or agreed
requirement that is made known to the candidate prior to assessment against this
unit standard.

Outcomes and evidence requirements
Outcome 1
Service passenger cabins in a maritime environment.
Evidence requirements
1.1
Bunks are stripped of all linen and coverings in accordance with workplace
requirements.
1.2
Used linen and coverings are handled in a safe and hygienic manner in
accordance with workplace requirements.
1.3
Bunk is remade with clean linen and coverings in accordance with workplace
requirements.

1.4
Interior surfaces of cabin are cleaned in accordance with workplace
requirements.
1.5
Any rubbish or waste is removed and any passenger property left behind is
collected and actioned in accordance with workplace requirements.
1.6
Floor area is cleaned in accordance with workplace requirements.
1.7
Any maintenance requirements for the cabin are identified and reported to
relevant staff in accordance with workplace requirements.

an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can
report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading
to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be granted consent to assess against standards by
NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.
Providers and Industry Training Organisations, which have been granted consent and
which are assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that
applies to those standards.

standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP). The
