3 Vessel operating procedures as specified in the vessel’s safe ship management policies. This includes compliance with legislation relevant to this standard which includes, but is not limited to the Maritime

Transport Act 1994, the Health and Safety in

Employment Act 1992, Resource Management Act

1991, Harbours Act 1950, and their subsequent amendments.

Prepare a restricted limits vessel for slipping and unslipping. performance criteria

1.1 Safety requirements in slipping and unslipping the vessel are identified and explained in accordance with local harbour regulations, by-laws, MSA statutory requirements and the vess el operator’s safe ship management policy and procedures.

1.2 Underwater fittings to be overhauled or repaired are identified in accordance with survey requirements for the vessel size and classification detailed by the

Maritime Safety Authority.

Range: may included but is not limited to - shipside valves and grids, tank drain plugs, tailshafts, rudders.

1.3 Repairs and overhauls to underwater machinery and fittings are completed and confirmed. The watertight integrity of the hull is confirmed as restored in accordance with survey requirements for the vessel size and classification detailed by the Maritime Safety Authority.

Range: machinery and fittings may include but are not limited to - shipside valves and grids, tank drain plugs, tailshafts, rudders.
