This unit standard is for people entering the cleaning industry.
People credited with this standard are able to: prepare
equipment and site; clean windows; and complete job-related
tasks.

1
Competence demonstrated during assessment against this standard must comply
with the requirements of:
Employment Relations Act 2000;
Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992;
Resource Management Act 1991.

Equipment and cleaning agents must be used in accordance with manufacturer's
recommendations.

Definition
Industry best practice refers to any enterprise and/or establishment requirements,
practices, policy, procedures, methods and protocols which are in accordance with
applicable legislation, regulations and New Zealand Standards.

Selected equipment is clean and in working condition.

Cleaning solution is applied and removed, leaving glass clean, mark and streak
free in accordance with industry best practice.
2.2
Windowsills and surrounds are left clean and free of excess moisture in
accordance with industry best practice.

Complete job-related tasks.
Evidence requirements
3.1
Work area is cleared in accordance with industry best practice.
3.2
Protective coverings are cleaned and stored in accordance with industry best
practice.
3.3
Equipment is cleaned, checked and stored in accordance with industry best
practice.

This unit standard, unit standard 1563, unit standard
1565, unit standard 1566, unit standard 7182, unit
standard 17263, and unit standard 17264 have been
replaced by unit standard 28350 and unit standard
28352.
This unit standard is expiring. Assessment against the standard must take place by

before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses

NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.
Providers and Industry Training Organisations, which have been granted consent and
which are assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that
