Range

Performance criteria

Boatbuilding project control requirements and processes are explained in
accordance with project control parameters.

Element 3
Explain boatbuilding project communication requirements and processes.
Range
processes include but are not limited to – written, oral, electronic, pictorial.
Performance criteria
3.1
Internal boatbuilding project communication requirements and processes are
explained in accordance with boatbuilding project requirements.
Range
3.2
includes but is not limited to – types of information communicated;
communication from leaders to staff, leaders to overall manager.
External boatbuilding project communication requirements and processes are
explained in accordance with boatbuilding project requirements.
Range
includes but is not limited to – types of information communicated;
communication to and from boatyard with client, suppliers,
consultants, and designers.
Element 4
Explain requirements and processes for change control on boat construction projects.
Performance criteria
4.1
Requirements for change control are explained for situations where variations to
build specifications are required.
4.2
Requirements for specification change control are explained in terms of
potential time, scope and cost ramifications.

4.3
Processes for monitoring and controlling specification changes are explained in
accordance with a boatbuilding contract that specifies the change process, and
a specification that the contract applies to.
Range
for a vessel of 15m or greater.
Please note
Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated
authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against
unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register
credits from assessment against unit standards.
Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards
must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
Accreditation requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this
standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP). The
AMAP also includes useful information about special requirements for organisations
wishing to develop education and training programmes, such as minimum qualifications for
tutors and assessors, and special resource requirements.
