Elements and performance criteria Element 1 Describe quality control in a trailer boat workshop. Performance criteria 1.1 Concept of quality is described in accordance with workplace practice. 1.2 Features of a quality control system are described in accordance with workplace practice. Range intended purpose of control system, documentation of procedures, standards and specifications, measurement. 1.3 Quality control measurement checks through each manufacturing process are described in accordance with workplace practice. 1.4 Measures to correct non-compliance of quality are described in accordance with workplace practice. Performance criteria 2.1 Typical warranty conditions are described in accordance with workplace practice. Range 2.2 relating to the structure, and installations performed by the manufacturer. Typical warranty claims are identified in accordance with industry precedents. Range may include dealer or workplace examples. Element 3 Identify external quality standards. Performance criteria 3.1 The purpose of the CPC compliance code is identified in terms of safety and marketing. 3.2 The purposes of ISO standards are identified according to their relevance to small craft and trailer boat construction. Range limited to identifying how an ISO standard might apply to trailer boat construction. 3.3 The requirements for trailer boats to operate commercially are identified in terms of the function of Maritime New Zealand. 3.4 Other codes or standards are identified in accordance with their relevance to production trailer boats. Range includes but is not limited to – Recreational Craft Directive (94/25/EC) – for European CE mark, ABYC rules, NMMA rules, USL code. Please note Providers must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
