Range: heel wedges, insoles, side pads, instep pads. 1.5 The shell or liner of the boot is expanded to improve the fit. 1.6 The shell or liner of the boot is ground to improve the fit. 1.7 The advantages and disadvantages of foaming boots are described in terms of their fit for various foot shapes. element 2 Operate workshop tools and machinery. Range: may include – boot expanders, riveters, infra-red, lamps, hot air guns, Dremel grinder, grinding tools. performance criteria 2.1 Workshop machinery is operated according to manufacturers' specifications and to operating instructions.
