Elements and Performance Criteria element 1
Determine client snowboard binding requirements. performance criteria
1.1
Client interview produces information about the client’s snowboard binding requirements.
Range: requirements may include
– type of boarding, recreational background of snowboarder, physical ability, stance. element 2
Install and adjust snowboard bindings. performance criteria
2.1 Bindings are adjusted to match the boot and optimise position of boot on board.
Range: boot/binding size, toestrap, heelstrap, adjustment, highback adjustment, highback rotation, cant (if applicable), leash.
2.2 The binding is mounted according to client requirements, type of binding placements provided, the snowboard manufacturer's recommendations, and conditions of warranty.
Range: stance, stance width, angle, overhang, centering.
2.3 Binding screws are seated without damaging the snowboard or screw according to manufacturer's recommendation and company practice.

Fit bindings to snowboards
Providers must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority or a delegated interinstitutional body before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.
Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
Accreditation requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP). The
AMAP also includes useful information about special requirements for providers wishing to develop education and training programmes, such as minimum qualifications for tutors and assessors, and special resource requirements.
