Area Reports
The Fitness/Wellness & Aquatics Coordinator informed us that there is a new posting for lifeguards and Group
X instructors. There will be a modified schedule for Group X during Thanksgiving break and finals week.
There is one more upcoming wellness workshop. There was also a survey done on the aqua exercise class.
Lastly, the sports and fitness showcase was a success.
The Intramural and Sport Clubs Coordinator reported that all intramural leagues are sunning smoothly and
about to start playoffs. Intramural tennis has already started playoffs. The costume dodgeball tournament had
12 teams participate and had 185 people in attendance. It was a success and a great atmosphere.
On the sports club side, there are two new clubs joining next semester: Disc golf and Swim. Both clubs are
preparing for a spring season.
Chanda Jensen reported that all is going well for the Facilities and Informal Recreation area. Participation
numbers are back up, as there was a dip in attendance, probably due to mid-terms and Giants World Series
games.
Campus Recreation held the Summer Facilities meeting on Friday, November 2nd. Representatives from
Kinesiology Department and the Athletics Department were present at the meeting. At the meeting, coaches
and camp directors were provided a copy of the summer schedule which highlighted any outstanding conflicts.
The Summer schedule will be finalized by the end of this month.
There has been two events hosted by student organizations so far this semester. They included:

For the marketing update, we are starting to wind down for the semester. We just finished the flyer for the last
Wellness Workshop of the fall semester. We are working on footage for our department video which will be
completed in the spring. Additionally, we on the DOS Marketing Committee and have been meeting once a
month to collaborate on ideas and our mission statement for the group.
