Consultation Feedback
Discussed Draft Analysis of Feedback document.
1.1
Request for a qualification at Level 2
 Currently there is only one Level 2 qualification – the National Certificate in Ngā
Mahi ā te Whare Pora (Pae Tuatahi) (Level 2) {Ref 0705]. There has been no
reported uptake since 2010.
 Are there any links between the LEVEL 2 qualification in the Creative Arts review
and the Ngā Toi landscape?
 Perhaps the Level 2 Creative Arts qualification structure will allow programmes to
be created with a Ngā Toi context?

Te reo me ngā tikanga Māori

Te reo me ngā tikanga is implicit in every aspect of Ngā Toi – kupu, kōrero, tikanga,
karakia, waiata etc.
 Whakaaro to integrate tikanga as well as include more guidance in the qualification
conditions in Part II of the development.

Notes
1.6
Skills gap within the Graduate Profile Outcomes
 Health and safety to include care and storage of tools and equipment, as well as
self. These are more important at the lower levels, but students should know them
by Levels 5 and 6.
 Presentation skills at Level 3 are more informal – kanohi ki te kanohi with the
kaiako. The skills build up over the levels and by Level 6 are more formalised –
presentation to the whole class and/or presenting an exhibition.
 Research skills – not as in depth at Level 3 and Level 4 as the higher levels (5 &
6).
Action
2
MQS to draft up some Graduate Profile Outcomes for consideration of
