Technical Assistance for Civil Society Organisations Corporate Social Responsibility for Community Development -A Way Forward for Civil Society in BiH This project is funded by the European Union. Sarajevo, Bosnia an Herzegovina 23-24, June 2014 EVALUATION REPORT Evaluation report was created using Survey Monkey service. Evaluation questionnaire comes from the generic P2P questionnaire developed by TACSO P2P team. Some questions were re-designed due to design of the Conference structure. Questions are not differing from the original ones and they are offering full understanding of Conference processes. Survey Monkey Results TACSO office has initiated on line evaluation form as a tool for quality oriented event management. From total of 70 participants we have received 41 on line responses (taking into account that conference speakers didn’t respond to on line evaluation as well as TACSO staff). Conclusion can be made that of total number of active participants (50) there was a 41 on line response that gives 82% of total responses. Experiences from the region with possibility of application in BiH are presented on great way and they have initiated discussion. Pane discussions with aim to exchange of experiences are very much needed for development of CSR in BiH. Presentation of Mr Dinler on „changes“ is very important for small actions that everyone of us can make with aim to involve as much companies to become CSR oriented. Voluntarism, interests, fulfilment of legal forms are prerequisite for CSR development that can do much for community development in the future. Concise, systematic and very good leaded programme of presentations, moderation and discussions. Everything was very good but again everything was in general. Panel discussions were very pragmatically. I have found something new from CSR area. Panel discussions were designed very well and they have provided on best way CSR to the participants. Concise, substantial, actual Conference was organised very well and obviously that organisers are very well prepared and acquainted with the topic which is necessary for good moderation of the event. Positive experiences from other countries are needed to measure own activities and ambitions as well as possibilities for their implementation. Definition of CSR and presentation of actual projects was very useful in understanding my sense on CSR. Organisers respected conference agenda. Mr Dinler presented on a very inspiring way his experiences to the participants and provided us with very good ideas. I am exited from presentation of good practices. Especially, example of Mrs Murisa Maric in the area of nonformal learning. Panel discussions were very useful because of introduction to thematic of the conference. Very useful was presentation of Mr Dinler and practical examples of CSR in Turkey. Introduction panel discussion was very practical, useful and interesting. Im satisfied with provided info listening presentation of Mr Dinler, Mrs Sladovic and Mrs Kusturica. Great, no remarks. Professor has talked to general. Moderation of the conference was correct, summarized and effective. Presentation of Mr Dinler was very interesting with good historical and practical examples. Short intro movie has left strong message how all of can make doing small things on plan of humanity and solidarity and enhancement of social relations. CSR is in starting phase in BiH. Having this in mind, we think that this conference was a good starting point for development of CSR for future steps in development of CSR in BiH. Community development with involvement of all actors (Mahala programme) and changes happening in technology and society and influence of these changes on development of CSR. View of public and private sector As topic of the Conference says – CSR should be ignition for community development and I found out that there is a need for better communication between civil society and business sector in order to have community development. I have extended my knowledge on CSR in BiH and other countries. Acquiring new ethical standards in business communication and other business activities between all interested sides with the aim of benefit to wider community. Activities of other CSO' have served s a good basis for exchange of information and taking look on each others positions. Added value is connection and exchange of ideas for potential cooperation of Conference participants. Special moment were Turkey experiences on CSR and how they have gradually taken CSR on higher level. For me personally, I have developed some ideas that I plan to implement through my institutions and cooperation with some of the conference participants. Concept of CSR is close to the concept of sustainable development. CSR doesn’t need to be obligatory. CSO have important role in promotion of CSR and there is a need for active work on better communication between CSO's and business sector. Simplicity of the concept that we use can lead us to success. Exchange of thinking we could conclude that with small steps we achieve much in CSR concept. Acknowledgment that on the conference there are so many people with similar approaches is a personal satisfaction and acknowledgment that something is doing right. Communication between different CSO's has showed that its possible to make cooperation between civil society sector and business through joint approach to decision makers on all levels. We had lot of time for formal and informal exchange. Logistics in hotel was great. I have met new people that I plan to stay in contact and cooperate. Generally it can be evaluated that workshops were very powerful, with good content and they have provided great suggestions and guidelines for development of CSR in our surrounding. During the first workshop better communication between private sector and CSO's was established. During second workshop we have been provided with possibility for networking and presentation of different groups that have similar interests. 17. Conference can be rated with highest grade in sense of organisation and content wide. Working groups were formed of representatives of different sectors which was a great idea. 18. Various sectors have different interest which they are trying to „impose“ to other actors. Taking in consideration work of all participants and conclusions from the groups, aim of the conference is achieved. 19. Everything was under the good organisation. 20. Personally I have made good contacts with colleagues from CSO's, some business connections from sectors of agriculture, ecology and education. 21. First, in ideas and activities there are many likeminded and whit that in mind there is potential for development of new ways of cooperation and secondly, that in area of promotion and development of CSR exists huge space and capcities for cooperation that can be connected. Turkey examples were very significant with focus on education system and CSR. I have gained new models and topics for cooperation between CSO's and business sector. More realistic picture on capacities and great work that CSO's are doing. New possibilities and ideas that can enhance cooperation between CSO's and business sector. Main finding for me is that key actors (employers, local community, academic community) can and have to work jointly in order to develop CSR in BiH and provide real results that all mentioned groups can have benefit from. Croatia just started with CSR project we think that our employers association can engage in this project through more concrete cooperation with Croatian Employers Association with usage of Turkish experiences and EU experiences. Examples of good practices and new info on CSR What ever you doing, do properly - Win-Win situation - be responsive to the stakeholders expectation There is a huge unused space for joint work of business and CSO sector for community benefit. That CSO's need to do business based on CSR For our future work importance are information on existing literature that we can use in further work on enhancement of CSR in local community. I think CSR is still in its baby steps in BiH, especially when we look at world trends and overviewing current CSR strategies of big companies. World trends are changing approaches and models of CSR and we are just introducing ourselves with the concept. This is a opportunity for BiH to define CSR based on experiences of others and to accept and promote best concept for our surrounding. Mr Diler was great and he is great professional. Networking with various partners CSR model presented by Mr Dinler Contact making that will in the future result with positive business cooperation. Relationships between CSO and business sectors. Win-win; there are many different project on CSR topic in BiH not connected or Interco ordinated. CSR is learned from child age and presents integral part of education. We need to work on CSR in micro world. Responsibility start there in our closest surrounding. Reporting is key part of good CSR. Organisation of similar workshops in local communities. Study visits for conference participants. More time for interactive work and questions regarding participants from the regional as they have more experiences in CSR development. Possibilities that CSR is providing to CSO's and business. Advocacy activities of appreciation for business that uses CSR in their work. Continue with same and similar events. Possible topic is project proposal writing. Participation of individuals and organisations from the region. Conclusion is that its necessary to periodically organise events like this one on topic of CSR but there is also need fro implementation of workshops on topics of public-private partnership, environment protection, access to finances and similar. Conference was very well organised starting from programme to way of work to selection of presentations and logistical arrangements. I think its very good you didn’t used print materials and that all communication was electronic. All presentations were great but I think that it would more interesting to leave space for discussion after each second presentation as I believe that this would reflect on total dynamic of the event. More intensive and better organised work in groups. We think that there were small number of companies from BiH and for that reason we were withholder for their experiences in CSR area. One negative remark goes to practical examples of CSR in our country. We think that there should have been more CSR examples from abroad. After this conference there is a need for one event that would focus on practical examples of CSR from abroad that could be followed by business in BiH. It would be good to organise regional meetings on same subject in different cities in BiH. As we are living in age where profit is very important to business and CSO's maybe in future events focus should be on values that are characteristic of CSR. evaluation form shouldn’t have more than 10 questions. Organisation of info/educative workshop on principles, values and positive examples of CSR to enhance knowledge on CSR to improve public, private and civil sector. I can say only best compliments for the organisation of the conference and I believe that TACSO BiH will in future keep up this high level of organisation of all their events. In future event do more group work as this way experiences are shared more. We think that these events are very useful and that there is an need to share them on macro and micro plan or to say to organise trainings and workshops in local communities with participation of all relevant subjects and of course CSR experts. Due to the complexity of today, turbulent times we live in and speed of changes, I think these kind of events should be organised as regional and not so specific for one country. Borders are despairing, cultures overlapping, all the same but all different and this is richness we have. Include experiences form all Western Balkan countries. On this way we learn, cooperate, spreading horizons and contributing to quality of life and better tomorrow. BRAVO TACSO, BRAVO EU! Keep up the good work! Everything was good, keep it like this. It would be good to organise conference on social entrepreneurship. Also to be considered to add topics like: help to young people, unemployed women that have quality ideas. More time and that on future events each of the groups present one project idea that will be implemented in cooperation with CSO's and CSR companies. More visibility on social media to announce the conference. Invite more business sector as they were missing and this has led to poor quality of discussions. I would like to see more participation of the business sector, media and academia. Space was not adequate for the number of the participants. There is no day light in work room and restaurant place is overheated. Conference organisation was faultless. I’m satisfied with the conference as I have learned something new and met many new colleagues from my sector that I will keep in contact and work together. Regarding organisation, it was perfect. Organisers fully responded to this task and I feel that all participants fell the same. Accommodation was totally adequate and conference information and materials were sufficient and in great time manner. Optimal usage of resources. Organisation was great. Nothing else to add. General opinion on the conference is very good. Organisation and everything that goes with it can get highest grade. Info and promotional materials were very good. Conference was organised very good. I think there is a need form more talk on values in CSR concept and less talk on how money substitutes these values. Grades say for themselves. I really respect food n general and I’m not fan of criticising food but I need to add that value of voucher for dinner was not in level of value we have been presented during the dinner. Price was much higher than the quality and taste of meal. I’m satisfied with conference participation and info received. I hope we will have chance to attend more TACSO events. High level of conference organisation. During the conference organisers and moderator have respected agenda time. Accommodation and working space were excellent. Bravo, nice and professional. Everything was ok! Useful and adequate help to CSO's. Suggestion: it would be good to send us presentations of speakers as well as contact list of all participants. as I said I would welcome more space for direct cooperation and to have space during the conference to suggest some of the projects that can be implemented on the field and local community. If there is possibility that this year you organise conferences in much cheaper venues and to calculated difference engage in flooded areas. This way story on CSR could have more effects.
