Presentation Shavon Arline- Bradley, MPH, Director of External Engagement, Office of the U.S. Surgeon General, discussed the Surgeon General’s Call to Action on Walking. In addition to describing the Call to Action, Shavon also highlighted the Partners Guide, which presents ideas on how organizations can help make walking more accessible to all Americans, as well as success stories from communities that are already making a difference. Announcements from the Field Student Help Needed The Baylor University project site is looking to hire a doctoral level graduate research assistant within the 5-year USDA funded “Salud Para Usted y Su Familia” project. This research assistant will be an integral team member on the physical activity and screen time components of this community-based and family-centered obesity prevention initiative partnering with communities along the U.S.-Mexico border in Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. Funding decisions will be made early in 2016.
