Daily Objective: The student will observe and participate in hospital rotations at Methodist Hospital. TEKS/AP/Standards: How will we learn it? Learning Activities: Go to assigned departments to observe, participate, and/or perform various tasks. Fill out observation form How will we tell if we’re learning it correctly? Assessment Methods: Students will discuss their observations from their rotation in front of class on Wednesday. Assessment Methods: Quiz on ch. 15 Ex. 1-10 of medical terminology packet Checks for Understanding: Ask students to repeat neurological examination steps back to teacher. Friday What do I need to be successful? Materials: “The Precise Neurological Exam” handout. Brachial plexus power point and diagram. What do I need to before next class? Follow Up/HW: Study medical terminology packet What are we learning? Daily Objective: The student will continue to learn procedures to perform a thorough neurological examination to have confidence to perform the exam in a real clinical setting. TEKS/AP/Standards: How will we learn it? Learning Activities: Begin notes and discussion on Sensory System, including vibration, position, pin prick, temperature, light touch and higher sensory functions. Teacher will demonstrate sensory system procedures. How will we tell if we’re learning it correctly? Assessment Methods: Practical examination in two weeks. Medical Term Quiz and Test next week.
