toSocial
keep track
on
counting.
In social studies we will
learn about physical
features of the earth.
Students will be able to
distinguish between
physical features of
the earth and humanmade features such as
a bridge or sidewalk.
In science we will be learning
about the basic needs and life
cycles of plants and animals.
Try This
Look for seeds in fruits you eat.
Are they big or small? What color
are the seeds? What would grow if
you planted your seed?
Reading and
Writing
We will learn to read and write new
words by combining initial sounds
with ending patterns also known as
chunks. By adding beginning
letters to chunks the word changes.
For example: “cat, hat, pat and bat”
all have the “at” chunk. We will be
working on the “at”, “an” and “am”
chunks this month.
Try This
Can you think of a word that
rhymes with cat and bat (hat,
mat, flat)? How do you think we
would write that word?
Can you think of a word that
rhymes with pan and man (fan,
