Winter Holiday Celebrations What winter holiday does your family celebrate? Would you be willing to share it with our class? The children enjoy having parents visit. Please indicate below if you are willing to come and tell us about your holiday traditions. Please return the slip even if you are not able to help, so we know which holiday your child celebrates. Gingerbread Houses Kindergarten will have a special unit on The Gingerbread Man and will build mini houses on Monday, December 21st. We will be sending home requests for items needed to decorate our gingerbread houses. Parent volunteers are needed! If you would like to help the children make the houses, please let your child’s teacher know. Please cut and return. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Child’s Name ___________________________ Our family celebrates: ___________________________________________________ Would you be willing to come in to share a holiday tradition? ____________________ Dates you are available: __________________________________________________ Are you interested in helping with the gingerbread houses? _______________________ December, 2015 Page 1 of 2 Share Bag for December On Fridays, kindergarten students may bring a Share Bag. This is our version of Show and Tell and encourages the children to give clues and build critical thinking skills. As a reminder, the children may bring in anything to share with the class that is special to them. Put the item in a bag and write three clues about the item on the bag. The children’s clues have been great! Note: On rainy, snowy or extremely cold days, students come in to line up in the hallways – not outside the kindergarten doors. Supply Check Please check with your child about school supplies. Do they have enough crayons and pencils? How many glue sticks do they have? This is a good time to replace supplies. Lost and Found Please label your child’s coats, gloves, hats, lunch boxes. . . Check the Lost and Found for any missing items! December, 2015 Page 2 of 2
