COURSE/CATALOG DESCRIPTION
This is a drawing course which continues from Art 175. The course includes continued use of charcoal and
other drawing media with experimentation in scale and large format and introduction to color. Course projects
will be in line drawing, value drawing, drawing from observation (still life, landscape, self portrait,
abstraction, non-objective abstraction and drawing with color (pastel, craypas) Not repeatable.
COURSE OBJECTIVE
At the completion of the course the student will be able to:
Use various formats, surfaces, media and sizes of format for drawing
Use various formats for drawings in color
Construct abstract drawings
Compare and contrast concepts of abstraction
Critique drawings and evaluate the best surface, surface, and format for different drawings
