COURSE/CATALOG DESCRIPTION
This is a drawing course which continues from Art 274. Continued use of charcoal and other drawing media
with experimentation in large format, mixed media, collage and painterly issues in relation to drawing.
Development of color skills. Projects in: line, value, abstraction, non-objective abstraction. Not repeatable.
COURSE OBJECTIVE
At the completion of the course the student will be able to:
Execute abstract drawings
Develop a series of work on a variety of papers using color drawing media and discuss the attribute and
problems of them
Compare and contrast drawing media, mixed media, papers and formats
Prepare a personal p0ortfolio of drawings

*Studio classes in the Art Department involve elaborate setup, clean up, and environmental and mechanical safety issues.
This takes instructional time from the beginning and end of each class session. For that reason it is Art Department’s
