Not repeatable COURSE OBJECTIVES At the completion of the course the student will be able to: Further refine their photo/technical skills. Investigate and apply extensions of the photo concepts introduced in Art 161. Define aspects of subject matter in greater depth. COURSE CONTENT: (In detail; attach additional information as needed and include percentage breakdown) 10 10 % % 60 20 % % Instruction/demonstration in creative use of photo accessories (filters, motor drives, and lens modifiers). Demonstration of film modifications and darkroom manipulation to aesthetically enhance imagery, or to create the “artist photographer’s presence” in the image, and presentation strategies. Directed individual student projects. Critiques and discussion of student projects. METHODS OF INSTRUCTION Lecture/demonstration of photographic equipment, methods, and materials. A series of assignments (using examples of former student made images) involving technical and subject matter judgments. Group critiques and individual advice on work in progress.
