requires walking or standing to a significant degree and pushing and/or pulling.

The Manager, Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Technologies (CASAT)
Technology is responsible for providing information technology, media, and graphics
consultation and identifying, developing, and implementing solutions for technology needs for
CASAT and its customers. This position guides the technology strategic plan by managing
technology initiatives, developing graphics/media, social networking, and project management.
The incumbent must provide a technology environment which meets the demands of granting
agencies. The position serves a valuable consultation role for CASAT staff and customers by
assessing technology needs and providing project management and strategic advisement. The
Manager is also responsible for identifying new funding opportunities and new technology
applications and product offerings and assisting in the development of request for proposals and
scopes of work related to technology. The Manager oversee the work of additional technology
staff.

45% - Technology Consultation and Supervision
 Manage technology team; oversee media, graphic and desktop support
 Schedule technology staff to meet daily and event needs
 Provide training to department employees regarding media/technology equipment,
hardware and software
 Provide overall project management of technology and media requests/needs
 Conduct regular assessments of technology use/needs and provide reports
 Recommend and implement technology applications/solutions; websites, social
media/social networking sites, and equipment
 Represent at national federal grant meetings to discuss technology issues and
participate in work groups with other Technology Managers

Pursue technology contracts and funding opportunities and bring in additional revenue
Consult/collaborate with UNR Information Technology
30% - Social Media/Social Networking Sites
 Collaborate in developing and implementing a strategic social media plan
 Design CASAT’s and its grantees/contractors social networking sites
 Assist/train staff to manage social media/social networking sites
 Conduct and report all website and social networking sites analytics
 Research latest trends in social media/social networking and advise CASAT staff
 Advise Director and staff regarding social media/social networking policies/guidelines
and best practices
15% - Technology Administration
 Evaluate all media equipment, software, and hardware, requested for purchase; approve
purchases, advise management
 Maintain hardware and software inventory
 Manage website and online subscriptions
 Manage cloud server technologies
10% - Direct Technology Support
 Provide tier 2 problem resolution related to equipment and software
 Support technology needs at conferences
 Videography and rendering
 Graphic design

The Manager is expected to coordinate daily technology needs without supervisory oversight.
The incumbent must collaborate with staff and granting agencies to ensure all needs are met.
The position is expected to resolve visible technology problems (such as technical issues at a
conferences) promptly and without direction. The position plays a critical role in the success of
CASAT and must maintain the technological services offered at all times. The incumbent is
expected to adhere to objectives and deliverables assigned by the supervisor and provide
updates regarding project status. In addition, the Technology Manager is the point of contact
between CASAT and Technology staff to ensure that all CASAT technology initiatives are
consistent with UNR’s technology parameters.

The Manager is expect to collaborate with the Director in development of the technology
strategic plan and services offered. The Director approves actions with fiscal impact, such as
major purchases and technology service contracts. The Director should be apprised of project
status and progress at regular intervals.

Relevant Experience: graphic design, learning management systems
development, video production, and managing technical/personnel projects
Certification and Licensure:
