Summary Statement: State the major function(s) of the position and its role in the university. The Coordinator for Transfer Recruitment conducts comprehensive market analyses and develops cutting edge and effective recruitment plans that will increase the enrollment of transfer students from diverse geographical locations, educational backgrounds, and personal experiences. This position serves as the primary liaison to the College Deans and their Recruitment and Retention Coordinators for the purpose of insuring college coordination throughout the transfer admission, credit evaluation, and enrollment process. The Coordinator reports to the Director of Admissions. 2. List the major responsibilities, including percentage of time devoted to each. Provide enough detail to enable a person outside the department to understand the job (percentage first with heading and then bulleted information). 80% - Recruitment of Transfer Students Develops and implements cutting edge, effective recruitment strategies resulting in the enrollment of qualified transfer students Establishes UNR offices and transfer advising at Nevada, Good Neighbor and out of state Community Colleges Coordinates (with UNR college recruitment coordinators) all outreach activities from initial contact through the advisement and enrollment of transfer students Plans, promotes, and conducts campus visit programs for potential transfer students Follows up with transfer student campus visit participants regarding application to and enrollment at the University Coordinates the transfer student advising and registration programs Develops and maintains transfer agreements with all Nevada Community Colleges and other high volume feeder community colleges 20% - Market Analysis and Recruitment Assists the Director with market segment analyses utilizing statistical modeling probability as a means of maximizing enrollment yield from eligible markets; develops strategies to maximize enrollment yield from application and admit activity Provides direct service to clients as well as training the staff to counsel and advise prospective transfer students through all stages of the admission cycle: inquiry, application, admission and registration Answers inquiries, collects completed applications, conducts preliminary evaluation of applicant admissibility, makes admission recommendations, and when necessary, provides students with alternative admission options Anticipates and resolves complex problems relating to admission, financial aid, scholarship opportunities, and housing Guides transfer students through the steps, procedures and policies required to reach the enrolled student stage Initiates and maintains contact with prospective students and their parents through one-on-one appointments, email, phone calls and direct mail Position Description – Coordinator, Transfer Recruitment Page 3 3. I Level of Freedom: The incumbent has considerable latitude for independent action in the area of recruitment of transfer students and is evaluated on intermediate term results of actions but not normally on specific procedures used. The Coordinator presents changes and recommendations in program operation and scope to the Director of Admissions for approval. Impact: The ability to meet transfer student enrollment projections directly impacts the university’s budget as well as the growth and expansion of its academic programs. This position has a significant impact on the quality and diversity of transfer students. Increasing transfer student enrollment is one of the university’s top priorities. The enrollment growth is critical to the university. This position is critical for the continued growth of the university and increasing the quality and diversity of the university’s transfer student body. 4.
