Summary Statement: State the major function(s) of the position and its role in the university. The Coordinator, Education and Parent Involvement, is responsible for the planning implementation and evaluation of the comprehensive infant/toddler early care and education service provided at the Early Head Start sites. The Coordinator assures compliance with the Head Start Performance Standards, federal rules, and all applicable state and local regulations. The Coordinator provides leadership, direction, and oversight for both the Education/Early Childhood Development and Parent Involvement components. The Coordinator reports to the Director, Child and Family Resource Center, (CFRC). 2. List the major responsibilities, including percentage of time devoted to each. The individual works closely with the Director on decisions associated with the position, but must work independently, with initiative, and with some latitude in decision-making. Impact: The work of the Coordinator impacts the quality of instruction and child care within the unit. The Coordinator influences the quality of parent involvement services offered by the Center to faculty, staff, students, and community members for their young children and the resultant impact on the children’s education and well-being.
