EASEMENT FOR UTAH DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
ISSUE
Utah Department of Transportation has requested an easement for Rocky Mountain
Power in conjunction with the Geneva Road project. Granting of property easements requires
approval of the Board of Trustees.
BACKGROUND
Utah Department of Transportation is currently working on the Geneva Road project.
Part of the project requires the relocation of the Rocky Mountain Power lines. An easement is
required to place a support wire on UVU property. The wire will be located in the south west
corner of the West Campus and will be located in the detention basin. The area is 291 square feet
and the compensation for the easement is $2600.00.
The Board of Trustee Executive Committee met in a conference call on July 15, 2011 and
approved this easement, as it was necessary to have approved before the Board met in a regularly
scheduled meeting.
RECOMMENDATION
The UVU administration recommends that the Board of Trustees ratify the approval of
the Executive Board for an easement to Utah Department of Transportation for the Rocky
Mountain Power support wire.
