Write a review-I
An article in manuscript form or a research proposal will be provided, with permission of the
senior author. Your job will be to review it, using templates appropriate to the journal or funding
agency. You will be graded on:
 Constructiveness of the comments—do they help the writer?
 Fairness of the conclusions—based on your comments, did you select an appropriate
“thumbs-up” or “thumbs-down” box, make good recommendations, etc.?
 Logic—did you find appropriate fault with the manuscript and present your case in a
clear, concise, organized fashion?
 Mechanics—how correct are your grammar, spelling, indentations?
 Style—did you manage to use words, figures, etc. effectively, in a memorable way?
