funded by the Programme for Research in Third Level
Institutions PRTLI Cycle V who will invest 3.8m over three years
• SmartBay Ireland is responsible for managing and operating a
marine test and demonstration platform for the development of
innovative products and services for the global maritime sector

Programme
•
The goal of the NIAP programme is to grow the
user base to encompass academic research
teams, SME’s, and MNC’s nationally and
internationally
•
NIAP fund is available to enable researchers to
access the SmartBay Infrastructure.
•
Research proposals must fit under the
objectives of the SmartBay PRTLI Cycle 5
programme
•
The fund will be available from November
2012-Devember 2014
•
Current funding call will close 30th of January
2013
Travel and networking grants for PhDs and
MScs 10 Grants at €1000 each
SmartBay Access Funding of 10 Small scale

• Subsea floor cable of 5km to
support subsea nodes with
400v power and high speed
communications via optical
