Input – something that is transformed by the process – may be raw materials, components, or data for example. Output – what the process produces (the transformed inputs). Controls – conditions required to produce correct outputs – may include procedures, instructions, route cards, purchase orders, etc. Mechanisms – the means used to perform the process – includes machinery, equipment, personnel and other resources.
