Laura Stanley is on a joint-appointment as an assistant professor in Montana State University's mechanical and industrial department and a research scientist at the Western Transportation Institute. Before coming to MSU, Stanley worked as an engineer for IBM in North Carolina and taught at Virginia Tech and was a researcher at Virginia Tech’s Transportation Institute. Stanley's research focuses on the human factors in transportation safety. Stanley earned her B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech, and her master's and doctorate degrees in industrial engineering from MSU.
