Come to our Winter Programs!
All of our classes will perform on Wednesday, January 20 just after the PTO
meeting which will begin at 5:30 pm.The program is scheduled to last until
7:00 pm. Please be reminded that the program will be held at Lanier Middle
School which is located at the corner of Woodhead and Westheimer. The
physical address for Lanier is 2600 Woodhead. Lanier has graciously allowed
us to use their larger auditorium so we will again have only one performance
this year.
Every student deserves a great audience, so please limit walking, standing
and talking during the performance. Please also realize that all students will
stay until the very end of the performance as there is a finale in which all student will participate. To ensure an exemplary program, please review the following performance rules.

Virtue of the Week
Our virtue of the week is justice. Practicing justice is being fair in
everything you do. It is seeing with your own eyes and not judging something or someone by what other people tell you. Being
just is standing up for your rights and the rights of other people.
Our virtue for next week is tolerance. To be tolerant is to accept
differences. You don’t expect others to think, look, speak, or act
just like you. Tolerance is being free of prejudice, knowing that
all people have feelings, needs, hopes, and dreams. To be tolerant also means to accept things you wish were different flexibility
and patience.

Tip of the Week
Environmental print is the print of
everyday life. It's the name given to
the print that appears in signs, labels, and logos. Street signs, candy
wrappers, labels on peanut butter
and the K in Kmart are other examples of environmental print. For
many emergent readers, environmental print helps bridge the connection between letters and first efforts
to read. Adults can take advantage of all this print by using
it in ways to talk about letters,
words, and print. Look for specific tips next week!
This week in science we will be exploring rivers, valleys, and delta. Students will experiment with water
flow to see how different features are formed. Be sure
to ask your children about their river!
