Virtue of the Week Our virtue for the week is honesty. Being honest is being open, trustworthy and truthful. When people are honest, they can be relied on not to lie, cheat, or steal. Honesty is telling the truth. It is admitting mistakes even when you know someone might be angry or disappointed. Being honest means that you don’t pretend to be something you are not. With honesty, you can trust things to be as they appear. Our virtue for next week is service. Service is giving to others and wanting to make a difference in their lives. It is looking for ways to be helpful instead of waiting to be asked. The needs of others are as important to you as your own. When you work with the spirit of service, you give any job your best effort. People who want to be of service can change the world. Tip of the Week Standardized tests currently play a major role in the United States public schools. As a parent, there are a number of ways that you can support your child before and after taking a standardized test, as well as a number of ways you can support your child's learning habits on a daily basis. Get a good night’s sleep Eat a healthy breakfast Be on time Going with the Flow This week in science we will be exploring hydropower. Students will learn about and experiment with harnessing energy from flowing water. Be sure to ask your children about their waterwheels!
