JUNE 2011
A Farewell Blessing
God is the source of all wisdom and knowledge.
Let us ask God to bless all who have reached the
conclusion of another school year of teaching and learning.
Lord our God, in your wisdom and love you surround us
with the mysteries of the universe. In times long
past you sent us your prophets to teach your laws
and to bear witness to your undying love. You sent
us your Son to teach us by word and example that
true wisdom comes from you alone.
We give you thanks and praise for guiding us through
this past school year, and for offering us the many
blessings of your love. Guide us through the summer
holidays and lead us back with eagerness and
enthusiasm to another opportunity next September
to devote ourselves once again to our studies and to
share with others the fruits of our learning.
Grand this through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen

CO-ED SOFTBALL
On June 20, St. David of Wales went to the Mississauga
North Softball Tournament at Dunton Fields. It was a
very hot and sunny day. Players from the Girls softball
team and players from the Boys softball team both
merged to represent the school at a Co-Ed tournament.
The team played very well. All their training and skills
shined that day. Thank you to all the members who
played and practiced with the team for all their hard
work and dedication to the softball team. We are very
proud of you all! A big thanks to all the parents for their
support during this tournament.

2011 BOARD TRACK AND FIELD
Rainy days and muddy fields delayed our Track and
Field try-outs this year, but Mother Nature did not affect
the spirit of the St. David of Wales Dragons. They
muddled through the tough conditions and achieved
great results at the Mississauga South Family Track and
Field Meet on June 17, 2011. Fourteen members of our
team qualified to represent our school at the Board Meet
on June 24, 2011. Each team member competed with
heart and class and many “personal bests” were
achieved, including three medal winning performances.
Congratulations to all! It was a fantastic season.
