2012 Take the Wheel
The University of Houston Police Department (UHPD) was recently recognized once
again by the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) organization on April 20, 2012.
The Law Enforcement Award and Recognition Event for Harris and Montgomery
Counties was sponsored by the Texas Department of Transportation and Mothers Against
Drunk Driving. Police Officers Chad Leveritt and Jason Mayorga were both recognized
for their commitment to their fight against drunk driving. The Police Department was
once again acknowledged for their continued support for the program.
Assistant Chief of Police Brad Wigtil mentioned that “having our officers recognized is
always a proud moment for the University of Houston.”
MADD’s mission is to stop drunk driving, support victims of this violent crime and
prevent underage drinking.
