Hurricane Season Here We Come
The Department of Public Safety’s Emergency Management Bureau is preparing for the
upcoming hurricane season. Along with publishing the 72-Hour Emergency
Campus/Travel Preparedness Kit Checklist, coordinating the ride out teams and credentials,
completing a table top exercise and incorporating the community into our plans for
emergency response; the emergency management team is ready for activation. Joe Mendez,
Emergency Management Director, stated “We are ready to go.” Mr. Mendez’ enthusiasm
has helped jump start the hurricane season to a new level for the University of Houston.
