In the next few days, you child will receive and Holy Cross School agenda. This agenda is an invaluable tool that
focuses on faith, life skills, and good academic habits, and challenges young people to put their faith into practice on a
daily basis. It is designed to help us minister to the whole student and enhance the Catholic culture within our school.
It is vital that you the parent, and us the School, work together to maximize the academic and faith development of
students with this vital home/school communication tool and prepare them for a lifetime of success. The agenda has
many useful functions and attributes including:










Weekly prayer and praise encourage spiritual growth.
School Talk allows teachers and parents to communicate.
Words of the week help students practice up to 16 spelling words.
Reading for fun! The agenda encourages students to read daily.
Saints' days and holy days printed on weekly and monthly calendars.
"Books I read this week" encourages students to read regularly.
Weekly goals—ample space for goal-setting every week.
Daily notes—plenty of space to record and prioritize.
Monthly theme to encourage lived faith and the spiritual growth of the student.
Home-school communication—includes comment codes to facilitate the
communication.
 Catholic content—age-appropriate content to help students apply their Christian faith to everyday life.
 Monthly calendar highlights special days of the liturgical calendar and helps students with long-term planning of
projects and events.
Every year, the agenda is being made available to students in a cost-sharing arrangement between parents, the School
and School Council. The cost to you $5.00. The School Council will absorb the remainder of the cost.
Please provide payment to your child’s teacher in exact cash as soon as possible.
