The Dover Intermediate School Math Club placed fourth in the region and seventh in the state in the Ohio Math League Contest.
The Ohio Math League promotes the enjoyment and study of mathematics by organizing online contests for grades 4-12 covering topics appropriate to each grade level. Students enjoy challenges through problem-solving discussions.
DIS students competed against 55 school districts in a 30-minute problem-solving contest consisting of 35 challenging questions.
Katherine Xiao and Oscar Hoegler placed in the top 30 students for the sixth-grade contest. Other team members are Gabe Khan, Alexa Higgs and Greyson Elyaderani.
Advisors are math teacher Bridget Royce and gifted specialist Anne Dill.
