Volume 16, Issue 1
Our focus in math will be multiplying decimals, dividing decimals and dividing fractions. A few days will be spent on each concept, which will involve independent practice time, small group work, and short formative assessments. Students will also continue their work with Hands On Equations to introduce and explore algebra concepts.
During these next few weeks students will be working with poetry. We will slow down the reading process to truly understand the theme of the poem. Students will read and re-read for meaning while asking questions for clarity. Students will actively listen to poetry and create their own poetry throughout this unit.
I will continue to work with students in small groups or individually (working on different reading strategies, or doing running records to see which reading level they may currently be reading).
