Have a cover page to introduce novel and title of your presentation.
1. On individual slides of presentation, the title should reflect each topic
2. All information should be easy to read from a distance
3. Don’t read to us or make us read your entire presentation
-Quotes should appear on power point
-You provide the explanations; Defining words and phrases are acceptable
4. You are graded on aesthetics. Have backgrounds and images and make everything readable and
organized. Images should enhance your point; a picture of the subject matter doesn’t help
5. Quotes must span the novel.
6. Organize for time; you will be cut off at 4 minutes.
You must have a copy with you on Monday. Save it to your student account and have a hard copy
when you came to class. If it doesn’t open, you don’t have it.
Prompts
1. The prompt is asking how the novel makes you look at the world in a way that defies your previous
expectations. You do not need to describe the point of view of the narrator or main character. Look at
the presentation of the various scenes.
2. Make sure you look at syntax and diction that reflects the personality or attitude of the speaker or
narrator.
3. A theme must be a general statement. What is the author trying to prove about all people?
4. Look at the interests, values and expectations of the audience. Don’t make it too limited based on
the plot line. Who would be engaged by this method of writing?
5. Compare or Contrast with a fictional work (Curious, Blood Bay, Cinnamon). Don’t just look at plot.
