The goals of the business studies curriculum are to enable students to:
gain an understanding of business concepts through the study of subjects such
as accounting, entrepreneurship, information and communication technology
(ICT), international business, marketing, and business leadership
achieve business, economic, financial, and digital literacy
develop the skills, including critical thinking skills, and strategies required to
conduct research and inquiry and communicate findings accurately, ethically,
and effectively
develop lifelong learning skills that will help them adapt to the changing workplace, and the global economy
Dufferin-Peel Business Studies Certificate
Successful completion of 6 required courses will
earn you a Business Certificate upon graduation. At
least 4 courses must be coded within the Business
discipline (i.e. BTT, BDI etc.) In addition, the following
courses may also be eligible: Grade 12 Business
English (EBT 4O), Grade 11/12 Economics (CIE 3M /
CIA4U), Grade 12 Financial Securities (IDC 4U) or
1 Co-operative Education Credit.
