Although many students were nervous to speak in front of the class, while using a microphone, they rose to the challenge and overcame their fears. It was a great example of growth mindset. The purpose of the book talk was to inspire others to read, discuss books , and to practice public speaking. They will have another book talk on Oct. 29th. • We will be starting TAG on Monday. TAG is a 30 min. reading block that allows students to read, discuss, and analyze books at their reading level. All readers need support and this is the time they will receive it. Even the ‘best’ readers need help with motivation, stamina, book choice, and reading habits. The students will rotate between all the 3rd grade teachers and learn about different genres during their book clubs. At the end of each session, they will create meaningful projects about the book they read. Book Talk Goal Setting Each week your child meets with me to check on cssacascjkjk his/her reading and writing goals. Book Talk Your child should be prepared to tell us about a book he/she read at home on Oct. 29th. If they can bring the book to show, that would be great.
