nd Dear 2 August, 2015 Grade Student, I am very excited that you will be with me in Room 102 this year! I can’t wait to start our year together. We will be making lots of new friends and doing many fun activities. Some of the things students love to do in second grade are: read lots of books, learn more about math and how to add and subtract BIG numbers, do science experiments, learn about maps and some United States history, and participate in the Teddy Bear Factory and Celebration. We’ll learn a lot of fun things about ourselves, our friends and the world we live in. We’ll work with friends on many projects and have lots of fun learning together! You should have already received a school supply list. If you can, pick up a few extra supplies to use at home and to save in case you run out of anything at school. Please make sure that your name is on all of your supplies when you bring them to school. I have special labels for your folders. On the first day of school, please bring your favorite book. During the first few weeks of school we will share them. Also, school days in August and September can be hot, so bring along a refillable water bottle. It is important to stay hydrated throughout the day. Make sure you eat a good breakfast and pack a healthy lunch! If you have any questions to ask me, or just want to say hello before school begins, send me an email, and I will be happy to reply. I can be reached at: karen.lodewyck@lz95.org. Enjoy the rest of your summer vacation and get ready for an awesome year! Sincerely, Mrs. Lodewyck
