Dear Parents/Guardians,
We made it through our 1st week of school! The students are working on
adjusting to their new school surroundings, classroom environment and routines.
Our theme for the week was “Back to School” and next week’s theme is “Apples”.
During our morning meeting, we watch our “Hello” song video and then use visual
supports to share how we are feeling and greet our classmates. The students really
love this! You can check out the video on Youtube, Hello! Super Simple Songs.
It is always helpful to have an extra set of clothes at school, so if you
haven’t already done so please send a set.
Be sure to mark your calendars for Back-to-School night on September2nd.
I hope to see you there! If you are unable to attend, I would be happy to send
home the information that will be discussed.
Starting next Monday, please look for a letter regarding your child’s day and
some of the things they did. This letter will have the same visual picture cues we
use at school. My hope is this tool will help the students in sharing with you how
there day was and what they did at school.
