Recall that you may not use any references in completing this project without permission from
the course instructor. Carefully document your work using the homework format described in the
syllabus. A formal report is not required.
1. Generate Figure 4.4 of [1].
For your assigned figure that demonstrates a behavior of system (4.1) and (4.2) in [1]:
2. provide phase plots including nullcline curves, location of equilibrium point(s), and example
trajectories for different values of the bifurcation parameter I; and
3. for each example trajectory, provide time domain plots of the membrane potential and gating
variable.
Explain the results of item 3 using the information of item 2.
Be prepared to present your results in class. Prepare a handout that summarizes your work. Be
sure to show reference(s) used.
