Instructions for Trombone auditions
For the trombone audition, there are three excerpts, one from Semper Fidelis by
John Philip Sousa and two from Aces by Robert W. Smith.
If you also wish to record scales or a piece of your choosing, feel free, but it is not
necessary.
If one excerpt is too difficult, leave it out. We want to hear you at your best.
The first excerpt is moderately fast (marked March Tempo).
The second is very fast (marked With Intensity).
This third excerpt is optional. Play it only if you feel comfortable. ßßIt is also
fast (With Intensity).
