Instructions for Bassoon auditions
For the bassoon audition, there are four excerpts, three from ACES by Robert W.
Smith and one from Semper Fidelis by John Philip Sousa
If one excerpt is too difficult, leave it out. We want to hear you at your best.
If you also wish to record scales or a piece of your choosing, feel free, but it is not
necessary.
The first excerpt is moderately slow (marked Powerful).
The second is fast (marked With Intensity).
The third is moderate (Flowing). Play up to /120/
The fourth is moderately fast (March Tempo).
