APPENDIX C1 SAMPLE WORKS CITED PAGE (not to scale!) (Use full 8 ½ x 11 sheets of white paper with one (1) inch margins all around.) 1. Start the list of works cited on a new page. 2. Number each page of the list, continuing the page numbers of your paper as you left it in the manuscript. Continue the works cited on the next page after your document, and the headers will automatically continue the name/number sequence. 3. Type the title Works Cited, centered and one inch from the top of the page (the default setting). 4. Double space between the title and the first entry. 5. Begin all entries flush with the left margin. If the entry runs more than one line, indent the subsequent line(s) one tab from the left margin. 6. Double space the enter list between entries as well as within entries. (Use the Format/Paragraph tab form the tool bar to set your spacing to double – then you won’t have to remember to do it!) 7. Alphabetize entries in the list of works cited by the author’s last name or, if there is not author, by the first word in the title (not A, An, or The).
