Outcomes:
1.0 Create a Catholic learning and working environment that is safe, inclusive, and
welcoming and increasing engagement among members of the community
Outcome Progress Comments
6/5/2015: Continue to focus on the 3 part Math lesson in all classrooms. Focus on strategies such as Bansho,
Anchor Charts, and Success Criteria to aid in culminating tasks. Complete an early year analysis to propose an "
EQAO Evening "with participation from teachers in all division levels . Staff will continue to meet across the
divisions to look at " best practices. " Use monthly staff meetings to share specific Ministry expectations and follow
Professional Teacher Learning Cycles. Focus on using technology to assist in student performance. Continue to
inservice all Intermediate students on effective use of Ministry of Education Homework Help interactive website.
The staff worked cooperatively with our Special Assignment Teachers to gather manipulatives and resources to
help with Mathematics programming.

2.0 Develop Collaborative Inquiry with all School Members

6/5/2015: Continue to focus on Collaborative Inquiries in all classrooms. Complete an early year GAP analysis of
resources in all subject areas, especially Language Arts, Math and Science, with input from SAT and teachers. We
continue to work on a consolidation model for all subjects by using the Ministry of Education documents as the
starting points for subject goals. We continue to work on a balanced program for all subjects. Our focus included
developing learning goals and on determining success criteria. Teachers also focused on providing descriptive
feedback to students to help them improve their learning and effectively use moderated marking. Students have
shown improvement in assessing their own learning when presented with learning goals and success criteria.

3.0 Pathways and Transitions-- By June 2016, graduation rates will increase.

6/5/2015: We continue to meet on a regular basis with St. Marguerite D'Youville High School to ensure a seamless
transition for our grade 8 students. Parents attended an information session at D'Youville, high school teachers
have visited our school to speak to students and our students have had the opportunity to visit the high school for
a day to see activities ranging from sports to drama to technology. St. Marguerite D'Youville High School sends an
Information Package in September to foster the communication between elementary and secondary as early as
possible.

4.0 Literacy: By June 2016, student performance in literacy will increase
Outcome Progress Comments
6/5/2015: Continue to focus on Guided Reading in all classrooms. Complete an early year GAP analysis of Language
Arts resources.We continue to work on a consolidation model for guided reading and writing. We continue to work
on a balanced literacy program. Our focus included developing learning goals and on determining success criteria.
Teachers also focused on providing descriptive feedback to students to help them improve their learning and
effectively use moderated marking. Students have shown improvement in assessing their own learning when
presented with learning goals and success criteria. We have communicated goals to our School Council and are in
the process of establishing "in-school" libraries in each classroom.

learners in the areas of Mathematics.
