Subject: Attendance-Student Policy Number: A5.10 Date: 4/18/86 Reviewed: 4/15/09 POLICY Students must attend at least 75% of the scheduled classes in order to receive credit for a course. Faculty are responsible for monitoring student attendance in their classes and for alerting both the student and the Director of cases in which a student's absences appear to be becoming excessive. PROCEDURE Attendance can be taken by noting the student absence and recording it on the grade book, class roll, or whatever records the faculty member maintains. The faculty member should remind the students of the attendance policy whenever the student has missed as much as 10% of the classes. If absences continue, the Director should be asked to formally alert the student to the danger of receiving a grade of F in the course.Faculty should include the attendance regulations in their syllabi or course outlines, which are given to students.
