Chiaroscuro: The technique of using light and shade in pictorial representation. Procedure: Choose an object that you find interesting Look at this object from many different positions to determine what is the most interesting perspective to draw from Create a sketch of the object that takes up at least 75% of the paper, making it look as realistic as possible Shade with a range of pencils to achieve a wide range of value The more detail and contrast you add, the more realistic the object will look Be sure to include the shadows that are created by the object itself!
