Program Information:
NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals, is pleased to announce the NAADAC Minority
Fellowship Program for Addiction Counselors (NMFP-AC) for master’s students interested in specializing
in the addiction/substance use disorder profession and open to working with the needs of racial and
ethnic minorities and/or transition age youth post-graduation. Funded by the Substance Abuse and
Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the NMFP-AC will provide at least 30 graduate
students with tuition stipends of up to $20,000 per student, education, training, and mentorship.

accredited Master’s program in
addiction /substance use disorder
counseling or a counseling program
with an addiction/substance use
disorder track that meets CACREP or
NASAC standards within 12 months of
the tuition stipend award
Agree to attend an online orientation
training, and complete six required
education webinars
Agree to work with a
NMFP-AC-provided mentor
Commit to providing at least six
months post-fellowship
addiction/substance use disorder
counseling to underserved populations
